An employee with Aegis Therapies since 2009, Jeff B. enjoys the team-based approach his position provides and takes much pride in supporting his co-workers in several ways.

“I work with an excellent team,” says Jeff. “Their skills, professionalism and enthusiasm make it fun to come to work every day. Because several of us have military experience, or family in the military, my whole team has military nicknames. I am ‘Warthog,’ for example.”

Jeff also has a passion for working with his patients, many of whom he considers part of his extended family. “It's like I have 80 surrogate grandparents that I get to serve every day,” he says. “To me it's an honor. They deserve the best care we can provide.”

His most rewarding experience since joining the company involved a patient admitted to his facility’s Alzheimer’s Care Unit (ACU). When the patient arrived, he was totally dependant on care, but after working with Jeff for four months, the patient was able to move out of ACU and gain several levels of independence. “I think you have to have a passion for what you do,” says Jeff. “It doesn't matter if you are a librarian or a therapist., you have to want to be here and make a difference.”
