At Aegis, we are committed to providing opportunities for our therapists to continue to learn.
Continuing education -- We offer continuing education courses taught by other Aegis employees having clinical expertise. Aegis is an approved provider of continuing education by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Many courses and seminars we provide are approved for CEU credit by AOTA and some are approved for state CEU credit. We are currently in the application process for approval as a provider of continuing education by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
Training technology -- We have introduced a training medium called Discourse, which is new state-of-the art technology that allows interactive online training complete with video and document links. Clinical orientation for all new associates is accomplished using Discourse. Our therapists rate this technology very positively, with more than 90 percent indicating they would like more learning opportunities through Discourse.
Independent learning -- We support therapists seeking learning opportunities outside of Aegis, as long as the subject matter relates to the therapist’s practice setting and the strategic goals for the district.
